My Favorite Place
I have always loved the ocean, it's one of the most relaxing places to be for me. As you drive along the coast you have this amazing view of the blue water and colorful scenery surrounding it. You park your car, step out, and feel the warm sunshine on your skin and the cool breeze flow through your hair. The smell of salt water hits you immediately, and in the background you can hear the sound of waves washing up on shore and crashing against huge rocks. As you walk closer to the water, you take off your shoes and the space between your toes is filled with warm sand. You take a look around and see children building sand castles with buckets and sea shells, teenage girls laying on beach towels working on their tan, dogs chasing their toy ball into the ocean, dads teaching their young children how to fly a kite, and moms taking pictures of every kodak moment they can. Standing at the edge of the water, you wait for the tide to rise to your feet. The foamy white water engulfs your feet up to your ankles for just a moment, until the tide rolls back into the ocean.
After enjoying the water for a little bit, you walk back to where you set up your towel and mini cooler filled with ice cold drinks and snacks, you take a seat on your towel and watch the movement of the ocean and the sound that comes along with it. Hours pass by only feeling like minutes, when finally the sun starts to set. Families start to pack up all of their now sandy belongings, load their cars up with their children, dogs, and coolers to head back home. It doesn't take very long for the beach to clear out and all that is left is the sand castles, waves and sunset of a gorgeous day by the ocean.
Wow, this is so true. This is literally what happens every time I go to the beach. Are you talking about Ocean Beach?
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly the typical person at the beach, I couldn't have said this any better. The whole blog is nothing but descriptions which is exactly what it should be for this writing, so awesome job! You have placed me at the beach with your writing, and I love the beach so thank you for that !
ReplyDeleteI found interesting how you wrote in the second-person. The descriptions along with the point of view and picture really put everything into context, presenting a clear image and feeling. That was nice to read. Thank you.
