The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival

Music. Food. Sun. Friends. F R E E!
My friends, "Joe" and "Lyza" had no plans today, and I saw a free music festival from online browsing happening this weekend. "We saw, we came, we conquered!", even though we don't listen to bluegrass, the openness of my friends and I are higher than most personalities. I only knew one band, Manchester Orchestra and they played yesterday which saddened me because I love them.
Joe picked us girls up, and I look at my friends and say, "Wtf, you guys wearing black and jeans for? It's going to be hot!" They shrugged me off, and said they didn't know. I laughed at their future pain from the heat of the sun... I was giggling but I stopped because Joe was getting frustrated with finding parking. It took about 20-30 mins to find street parking. Joe complained and said, "It's so far!" Lyza and me put up with his whining, and walk with a little happy strut, because our easy going behavior eat that sad shit up and turn it into something more productive than complaining. No offense, we love Joe! We knew it would be crowded because seas of people walked on the the trail to get to the show.
After walking with Joe's whining and the sun just burning us, we get to Porch Stage and immediately hear Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside.  Her voice caught my attention right when we enter ed the Porch Stage area. Her voice was a combo of the "Yeah  Yeah Yeahs" and Zooey Deschanel. Yet, it was still an unique voice.

We sat in the grassy shade far from the Porch Stage with our bottoms getting dirty, our skin hot, and but felt content and joyful to be part of the huge show. Although we didn't stay that long, we enjoyed the free music, the vibes, people laughing, socializing, and relaxing. I will definitely come back next year, but probably more prepared.

Here are some things I think would be helpful to bring:
1) BLANKET
2) SUNSCREEN
3) DRINKS
4) FOOOOOOOD
5) MAP
6) Gooooood vibes c:

****If you don't want to be around alcohol (NO HARD ALCOHOL ALLOWED THOUGH) like beer or wine, or smoke from ganja or cigs from very "hillbilly" (WHAT JOE SAID) people, then be advised that you may have to move around to avoid these things. I didn't really mind the scene because most of the concerts I've been to had things like that. Although the rule of no smoking isn't enforced throughout the park, there is also a medical van, free water, and portable poop pee pods.****

  1. I really like this blog. i also wanted to go but didnt end up going but i heard alot of things about it. Your post was super funny. I love the tome you had which was humor. Very funny. I also liked how it was very easy going to follow. I understood everything you were talking about. i really liked the language that you used. You used slang which is how us teenagers talk now a days, so made it easy to understand. I really liked that you put in alot of detail in this piece. I can actually picture how the festival went and how you guys were preparing for it and how it happened. The video was a really nice touch!
